South Liverpool is renowned for its beautiful and historic parks; Sefton Park and Otterspool Park in Aigburth (L17); Calderstones Park, Greenbank Park and Sudley Park in Allerton / Mossley Hill (L18); and Princes Park in Toxteth (L8) to name but a few.

Whether relaxing on the grass, playing sport or just taking a leisurely stroll around the lake, Sefton Park has something for everyone with the famous Grade 2* listed Palm House hosting numerous events from concerts to craft fairs. There is a magnificent boating lake and the Bandstand, is said to be the inspiration for The Beatles’ Sgt Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band.

Calderstones Park in Allerton plays host to the Liverpool International Tennis Tournament every year. Many famous faces from the world of tennis have played in the tournament including John McEnroe, Martina Hingis, Martina Navratilova, Greg Rusedski, and Richard Krajicek.

Sudley Park boasts Sudley House, an art gallery which contains the collection of George Holt in its original setting. It includes work by Thomas Gainsborough, Joshua Reynolds, Edwin Landseer, John Everett Millais and J. M. W. Turner.

Princes Park is now host to a weekly, free and timed 5k running event as part of the parkrun uk organisation. The event is based in the centre of the park and starts at 9am every Saturday. Schools in South Liverpool from nursery age to university level are widely considered to be of a very high standard and include the 300 year old Liverpool Blue Coat School in Wavertree; through to Liverpool Hope University in Childwall, not to mention John Lennon’s former school, Dovedale Junior in Mossley Hill.

Transport Links

South Liverpool has a comprehensive local road and rail network allowing easy access to the City Centre, and the M62 and M56 motorways. Merseyrail train stations, with connections into Liverpool Lime Street and out to Manchester, service the whole area, complementing the comprehensive bus timetable.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport is located in the district of Speke, in South Liverpool. The airport flies to a growing number of destinations throughout Europe, and more recently, long-haul flights have been introduced through the addition of KLM Airways to the flight schedule. There is no shortage of fantastic open green space in the North of the city. Transport Links

North Liverpool has excellent road and rail links to the main arterial routes including the City Centre and great motorway networks; M62 to Manchester, Leeds and Hull, M57 connecting directly to South Liverpool and M58 takes drivers straight to the M6 for all routes North and South.

Merseyrail Northern Line stations take passengers from Lime Street out as far as Southport, Ormskirk and Kirkby for connections to Manchester, Wigan and Preston. As with all of Liverpool, the bus timetable for the area is comprehensive.

North Liverpool is the prime location for the City's first time buyers and young professionals. A good infrastructure combined with strong community spirit makes North Liverpool a very popular place to live.

The regeneration of North Liverpool is a main priority for the council. Liverpool Vision has devised a 20year strategy with the assistance of Liverpool Council, NWDA, and the Government Office and Homes and Communities Agency. The Strategic Regeneration Framework (SRF) is focused on four main areas which include Anfield, County, Everton and Kirkdale. It is aimed at growng economic and employment performance in the area and improve the local housing stock.

The regeneration scheme along with high rental demand makes North Liverpool a popular area for investors.
